Philip Hearlink 2 app causes excess battery drain due to latest Philip 9050 firmware?

I updated my Philips 9050 firmware to 1.3.1 at by local Costco about a month ago. The hearing aids work fine but my Samsung S22+ power consumption goes way up. For example, my battery percentage went from 65% to 58% in little over a hour. As a test, I achieved the app about an hour ago and the battery has not dropped. Does anyone have this issue? Other than not able to locate my hearing aids if I misplace them, I don’t see I give up much if I don’t use the app.

You might give up the ability to take an broadcast. I’m not sure if the broadcast assistant is included with that model of phone. Right now the Philips app is showing 4 per cent of battery usage on my Pixel. That’s a bit high considering how little it does but I’m not sure I’d notice the difference if I uninstalled it.

You could try turning off “keep connection” to see if that makes any difference. I was wondering if the “find my hearing aids” feature might be the cause but I couldn’t find any way to turn that off.

My Pixel 10 is showing battery usage at 6 percent. However, I have Allow background usage turned on.

As d_Wooluf stated you will loose the ability to connect to an broadcast. Plus you won’t be able to use any of the two equalizers.
