Philips introducing Auracast to its 2026 TV range

Philips is to start releasing its 2026 TV models from May, and many of them will have native support.

This means they follow Samsung, Panasonic and LG in introducing the technology to its television range.

Philips is also exploring a firmware update for older models with the TizenOS system.

As TVs now support , it’s time that Phonaks starts supporting it. But that will eliminate the need for streaming devices, so maybe we’ll have to wait…

The direction is clear. BUT Phonak are CLEAR. They do not want to . They want the public to spend money on THEIR proprietary add ons, which cost £150 to many thousands to the detriment of ALL Hearing Aids users because of their market share. It will take a directive by a goverment to force them to change. No chance of US or UK. Perhaps the EU will ride to our cause. There is no cost to Phonak to implement this feature. It is a feature of Bluetooth. It has been a standard for over 18 months. IT has been included it the latest Android for a year. The cost is peanuts for venues.

I feel that Phonak has been given a free pass on this. The influencers out there clearly don’t want to get on the wrong side of the biggest hearing aid manufacturer in the world. The ‘ready for’ thing was apparently just because procrastination might be more palatable than outright refusal. I was under the impression that Phonak Audeo is a dual device- ‘classic’ and can co-exist in the same device. If that’s not the case they could offer two variants. There is no reason why they can’t offer it.
