In my old Phonak Audeo ’s I had a car program installed into the HA’s. I needed to press the button as it was one ear only. Depending if I was driving or a passenger. This worked well when the HA’s were new. But after about 2 years that stopped working. With the Phonak Bolers B SP if these have it they don’t work at all.
I think that if you have open domes, the feature won’t work well because the low frequencies bypass the dome and can’t be attenuated by the hearing aid. May work better with custom-fitted ear pieces.
I’ve got hard acrylic ear moulds with a 1mm vent in my left and a 1.5mm vent in my right.

Have you also tried to use unvented moulds? Especially your right mould lets the low frequencies pass to your ear with which you hear the lows better than the highs.
With (temporarly) closed vents I do understand speech better than with vented moulds. Another effect is that I can reduce the neccessary gain in the mids (1-2kHz). The next question is: Which directionality would you choose that this program should have? Omnidirectional or to the front only (there is no “back-only” for Phonak).
I don’t have the program “speech in car”. But you can auto-fine-tune some programs for noise in car and I used this option.
I spent 30 years with unvented ear moulds. I only got vents this year.
I actually don’t notice any difference with or without vents. I was told music wouldn’t sound as good but to me it does sound like before I had vented ear moulds.
Speech in car program is basically automatic ZoomControl.
Phonak B90-312 Speech in Car
Another challenging situation, I am not sure if my program is set correctly (AutoSense). I Can hear with lot of background noises, hence lot of distortion in the voices.
Music in the car keep playing, but i can’t listen to it or can’t even make out if anything is ON
When i initially purchase the , i was able to at least hear Speedometer Beeps ( the moment i cross the maximum speed defined ) on the road, now i am not even able to hear that as well after some programe adjustment done by Audi
I have the Speech In Car mode and it does help somewhat in my quieter car. I haven’t tried it yet but someone suggested going into the App and using the “Split” function to turn down the left hearing aid (US driving) so as to reduce sound coming from the driver’s side window.
