Please ask any questions. Over the last year I have trialed several brands. One important criteria to me is Speech in Noise, and in general I have been disappointed with all aids. I tried the Genesis when it first came out and returned because of software bugs. They had a major software update a few months ago and I wanted to try again. On first impression, I had the same issue as before, a hiss or rumble in the present of noise. After changing to a more vented dome and lowering the bass, that problem seemed to be resolved.
With that resolved, and after having only 3 days, I am impressed. Clarity is very good, battery life exceptional, sound quality of streaming better than others, app is great. The one time I tested Speech in Noise it was better than others. My next test is in a restaurant tonight and I will let you know.
Next week I will trial the Signia IX
In general they are better than others I have tested.

I have had terrible trouble with the Genesis -the ‘decisions’ it makes for you suppresses many sounds that you want to hear, creates a throbbing effect (cutting in and out as you say) often with ambient noise, (car tyres on the road, background traffic, kettle boiling etc) dampens down hearing in conversation if it is windy etc etc. I find them quite distressing to wear. Also I had big reverberation issues when listening to music which my audiologist has now solved but at the cost of more feedback. I feel bad for my audiologist who has been an absolute hero - there are huge problems with these aids which he has to try and solve and has tried many times. I found the Evolv much better and would like to go back to them

I have a lot of mixed emotions about these aids. Somethings are very good: app, battery life, no sudden sounds, edge mode. For me there are 2 main issues, background sounds and cannot get the high frequencies (I think the latter can be adjusted). The throbbing effect with ambient noise has been there when I first trialed a year ago and also now. I have found that by going to “Adjust Sound” and lowering the bass 3 to 5 db, I can reduce the throbbing effect. But I also think this reduces sound quality. Any comments and insights would be appreciated. Thanks

Thank you for sharing, @Diver50. I’m very interested in your comparisons of Speech in Noise. It’s interesting that you found Starkey to be better than the others in this regard as Starkey was one of the better performers in this regard on the Hear Advisor Lab tests. Signia IX was one of the lowest performers in noise, tied with Phonak Lumity, so your upcoming trial should prove interesting. I trialed the Signia AX and found them to be surprisingly good in noise.
