Who has successfully used the Audibility Fine Tuning section of Target?

How do you determine which menu item to increase/decrease and how much?

For example “Calm Situation” Speech Component Female “S” - When I play the associated audio clip, I can’t hear the audio from my laptop, even with the volume at 100%. Does this mean this value needs to be increased?

Attacking this blind in “Calm Situation” Speech Component I increased "Voiced Consonants & Vowels, which seems to enhance my TV listening experience. I’d like to improve my ability to hear conversation for “Spheric Speech in Loud Noise” and I increased “Speech - Speech in Party Noise”

I’m going to be honest, after wearing hearing aids for 7 years, I’ve not really paid attention to a particular speech component that I may have difficulty comprehending, so I have to learn to do better.

I also realize that, given the severity of my loss, there is a limit as to what Spheric and do for me. When background is 75 db avg listening starts to be a challenge and time to turn on the Roger On.

Hello Orgullodemexico, I do not know if this is the same situation, but let me tell you, for some weeks, I have not been able to play sound in my Target Phonak, Windows 11, with the last update. Then I ran out of Target Phonak (this Windows laptop is dedicated only to Target Phonak), and I realized the audio was not working at all. I did some research and figured out that some others had the same problem—no audio at all.

Before, I was able to use the audio, and it helped me with the “s,” “sh,” and so on.

I laughed when I saw your comment. The Female “S” in Target is super frustrating.
I learned that it is meant as a test for the SoundRecover2 (Per Phonak). I wouldn’t worry about that specific one. Just ask a female friend to say “spoon” . You really need to crank up the 6,8K to be able to hear that sample (Per Phonak Target) (at least at the same level as your 4K, most likely more)

You need to have Phonak Target media & sounds installed. Check the list of installed software in your computer: The list should include 3 items: “Phonak Target”, “Phonak Target Media” and “Phonak Target Sounds”

Can you hear the other examples eg “crickets chirping”?
I cant hear female “S” but can hear the Sh in “Sh-S=Sh”
Sound recover won’t help your right ear as it has better results at higher frequencies.
