Unitron / Phonak receivers

Is it possible to figure out which receivers my Unitron Moxis use ? The receiver in the right hearing aid snapped off and when I contacted the shop I purchased them from they told me the ausiologist could sort it out for me. The audio replaced the receiver whith a shorter receiver and would like to buy the correct size but looking online there are multiple versions with different numbers of nonnections and SDS versions. I’m also not sure how to remove the receiver from the body and don’t want to trash the device.

Any help appreciated.

Which Moxi ? Vivante (V), Blue (B)? Most likely it is a 5.0 receiver.

The “nozzle” of the receiver has a letter and a number . The number represents the length and the letter is the power. Again , this is how Phonak does it

I’ve got about 3 generations of them in stock. The current Smile uses the SDS 6.0, the previous model started on a 4.0, but was updated to the 5.0 when they binned the awful disc waxtraps.

The left original has 1M on the receiver while the replacement right is a 2M It looks to me like there is a locking pin through the body to prevent the plug being pulled out so not too keen on just pulling as shown in the video. I guess I have to remove it to see if it’s 2, 3 or 4 connection pins.

I’m confused.
In your first post, you said the receiver was replaced by a shorter wire.
In your reply, you wrote that 1M was replaced by a 2M. The 2M is longer, not shorter than the 1M.

Older Phonaks/Unitron have a locking pin. Newer ones don’t

The audio told me it was shorter. I was just glad that it could be sorted out. Then I found this forum and am learning something new everytime I visit. I didn’t give much thought to it at the time as I was down to one hearing aid and my right side is worse than the left. I just did a size comparison and yep it is slightly longer than the left. I now need to see if any of the pieces in my micro screwdrive set is fine enough to push it out without enlarging the hole. Something else learned. Thanks for the info.

Could you give me any details of the these use. I bought some a while back and they looked the same but the hole on the dispensr was too small as were the wax guards themselves.
Also, Not sure which Moxi, I thought there was only one. Had a lot of work done in and on the house so loads of stuff went into storage and finding the box with the all the info that came with it is going to take some time.

Moxi model should be on the side of the aid (printed on the red/blue plastic) or inside the battery door (if they are not rechargeable). It’s also in the app
depend on the receiver: The 4.0 uses cerudisk, the 5.0 and 6.0 use cerustops.

Thanks for the info, when I find my loupe I’ll be able to read it. They are rechargeable but the printing on the coloured areas is minute. The only thing the app shows me about the devices are: LE_L-Unitron hearing aid & LE_R-Unitron hearing aid. In the fitting software it shows Moxi B9-R M

That’s the model - Unitron Moxi Blu.

The Blu is the cousin of the Phonak Paradise and can use the 5.0 receivers with Cerustop . They are cheap on eBay

Both hearing aids are manufactured by the Sonova group. and both use the same PRISM chip. Unitron has something interesting, the technological level can be upgraded later. I just don’t know, is the upgrade price lower later? I’ve heard from some that Phonak is a better class than Unitron but it’s still unclear what’s worse about Unitron compared to Phonak. What are your experiences? I’ve also heard from some one advantage of Unitron, is that people can raise their technological level at home…

Pretty soon I’ll have may bedroom workshop sorted out after all the work is completed and will have my microscope setup. Anything too small to read will be easy then.

Thanks for all the enlightenment & info. It really is appreciated. Forums like this are only good forums beacause of the time given by those with the knowledge and experience responding to newcomers like me.
