The info I get from copilot is that the Pixel 8a and 9a are NOT -capable. I get the same answer from a web search and Gemini. Alas, I can’t find Google documentation on this, but there are forum Q &As on 8a/9a and auracast.
The big deal about auracast to me is that it unshackles from the HA manufacturer’s accessories. For example, I like ReSound’s Multi-mic. It really helps me in many meetings, but a better microphone would help more. If the mic and my HAs were auracast capable, I could use the mic, no matter who made it. If one had an auracast TV and auracast HAs, the HA manufacturer’s TV streamer would be unnecessary. With an auracast system at a movie theater and auracast HAs, one could hear better - and turn down the horrendous loudness of movie theater sound systems. Etc., etc., etc.
At least that’s the vision.
