How to Access Auracast in the Starkey Edge AI App?

We, Avantree, are offering hearing aids supported transmitters, but some users cannot find the Auracast option within the Starkey app. Could someone please share how to navigate to the Auracast section in the Starkey Edge app? A screenshot or step-by-step guide would be incredibly helpful so we can include it in our user manual. Thank you!

You can definitely wait for our Audikast 4 — it’s coming soon with optical support. Whether your wife can hear at the same time depends on how your TV handles the optical output.

Most TVs still let the built-in speakers work even when using the optical port, but it varies. Worst case, you could grab a little clip-on speaker with support for about $50 to help out. :blush:

I have a Samsung.
I have the optical connected to the speaker.
TV speakers work simultaneously.
Bluetooth also works at the same time.
So adding yours with a splitter everything should work.

I have Starkey Edge aids and have been playimg with - at the theatre, at St Paul’s Cathedal, and in the home.

Not had the Starkey app imvite me to join an Auracast, but i have used the Auracast Assistant buiilt into the S25 phone I use.

I have ttied a Homespot Auracaster box for the telly but my Starkeys crash out after about eight minutes.
The app does show it is streaming that Auracast.

Hi @PhilCreighton Can you please do me a favor by sening me a few screenshot of how to use Starkey APP to search for source? We need to have that info in our guide of Auracast transmitters. Thank you very much!

I have the Starkey.
Can you get into the stream from the app.
Do you have a dedicated program for Auracast that you have to manually get into to receive the stream?

You need an Assistant to help facilitate the link between the Auracaster and your hearing aids. But the Assistant is not the caster, just the link.
At the moment Auracast is limited: it’s not in iPhones, and it’s not native to Android unless you’ve got v16 beta (I understand) or a Samsung Galaxy from S23 upwards.

To access the Auracast you need to go to SETTINGS > CONNECTIONS > BLUETOOTH > The COG next to your hearing aids > ensure LE AUDIO is toggled ON > Click on LISTEN TO AURACAST BROADCAST > then the BROADCAST near you.

I’ll do some screen shots a bit later.

I have a Pixel 6a.
So I cannot turn on LE.
I can see it but I cannot access it.
Your not accessing from the Starkey app then.
You can only access it from Samsung’s assistant.

I have had a go at pairing to an again.

The Auracaster used here is the Homespot Broadcaster which i imported to the UK from Amaxon US for about £50.

I have no options in the Starkey app, i have to go to Bluetooth settings to pair.

Edited to add: if I get a notification on my phone the Auracast stops and I have to pair again. Frustrating. And I’m sure there is a way around it.

My wife has a Pixel 6, so I’ll see what options she has.
But there are no obviously visible options to connect from the Starkey app.
GN on other hand I think does.

The BA210 is just an Auracaster. It needs an Assistant to tell the receiver the can be picked up.
I’ve got all my hopes pinned on the Android 16 update will finally bring the Assistant app into everyone’s phones.

but I also think the Starkey app is buggy as it keeps crashing when I’m using the HomeSpot - when the phone is sending me an alert usually. It’s not always happy.
