PLEASE don’t give up!
The more failure experienced the more prepared you will be to succeed next time.
There are technical aspects to all this stuff, and it is easy to feel pressure in the moment. You said that it worked at home.
Something had to therefore have changed in the eatery experience.
Some phone setting.
I mean - you don’t even know if the Roger was on!
The goal here should be to experiment more - in no pressure situations.
Try with a friend - then increase the distance.
Have friend in noisy room like with a TV, see how Have the friend holding the Roger can be heard better than by your aids.
No pressure.
No rush.
Experiment with the various tips given here.

I apologize in advance for my “dumbness” concerning all of this

While the Roger ON can have problems in loud group situations it is normally great when worn in presenter mode. I know this is a basic question but could you have inadvertently pressed the button and locked it into table or pointing mode

I always mute my aids in the MyPhonak app after I turn on the Roger. You still receive from the Roger ON but the bulk of the background noise is gone.

Btw, those are serial short presses, not one long press
It it is activated by in Phonak Target software you can also push lower buttor for 3 seconds, which is equivalent of turning off mics in myPhonak by crossed-out microphone button.

This is a custom setting for you though, right? Not the default? When I long press down while streaming the stream ends and the aids go back to automatic.

Dear All,
Thank you all very much for your suggestions re: the use of Roger in restaurant. I will try these out and ask the audiologist to put on the My Roger app on the phone. However, I have been to see an consultant and after many tests etc, hearing, balance, vision and looking at the taken in November last year, he thinks that the ear pressure that I have may be from Endolympatic Hydrops and today, I had an . He has said that the problem I have is not Menieres and that the next step could be to have 2 weeks of steroids and then review. It’s a relief in a way to finally get a possible diagnosis. So we will see, I’ve found myself refusing social things as I am happier at home where I don’t have the endless problems with sorting out hearing aids etc. with the phone. Not good I know, but as you will know, I have found this to be too stressful but I really don’t want to be spending hours trying to sort this out on the phone. Thank you all again for the replies relating to Roger On in restaurants.
