I needed to delete the bt for the aids in the bt settings, then clear both cache and data in the app but this must be done from the phones app settings, not the EnhancePro app, then delete the app, then restart the phone, then reinstall app and re-pair. Also make sure ALL permissions are enabled. Go into enhancepro app and enable all permissions, not just what the app suggests. Once paired you can deny any permissions you dont want
Thank you both. I need to try all that to delete the cache, etc.
I used to do all that on my computer to solve issues, but have never done it on the phone. So I will have to figure out how to do all of that on the phone.
I do use the Jabra app on my phone to change the settings and volume. There are a lot of setting to modulate the sound that I need. Plus, changing the volume on the aids themselves I find problematic given that the buttons on the aids are in a weird spot, and that can lead to the aids being somewhat dislodged.
“The poor sound on phone calls is a puzzle. My phone-call streaming has always been one of the better things about wearing . Jabra 30s/S25 currently, but also very good with my older S10e and Resound Ones (and even a generation prior). I-Phone users on the forum report good results as well. My only suggestion is re-boot your phone frequently, and If comfortable doing so - completely uninstall the App, download it again and do the pairing again.”
I did all that a long time ago, unless I incompletely got rid of the cache; I did get rid of the history.
Well, here I am still having trouble with the poor sound on streamed phone calls. It is slightly better with the new molds, but still pretty bad. And I think I need new molds, because the bad sound with streamed phone calls, plus, feedback fairly frequently, plus, they don’t completely stay in when carefully taking off a mask, although shootist said that molds aren’t magical when taking off a mask.
So, I’ve had program tweaking about 5 times, but for the streaming, probably only once, where he called Jabra and got help with it, which didn’t help at all.
And now I’m thinking of switching either Costco and fitter, aids, or start all over with an audiologist, if I can get a good recommendation.
But my husband has been using this fitter, and we can’t go to two different Costcos. I can’t get around by myself anymore, and it takes an hour at least to get to any of them. But first I have to decide what is my next step.
I am not sure why I am still having the streaming phone calls problem.
“I have read many of these threads and I do know what I am talking about. There is no doubt that you need an occlusive fit to get any real bass and even then it can’t go all that low. At the top end, most hearing aids stop at 9kHz or thereabouts, but many people can’t hear higher than even before they are recognised as having hearing loss.
My main point is that having tried the Resound Vivias into an iPhone 17 Pro that doesn’t have low energy audio, and also the same Vivias connected to that iPhone by a LEA dongle, LEA is a bit better but it doesn’t make the standard iPhone connection to the Vivias sound broken.”
Well, I am still having the problem of bad streaming of phone calls. I now have silicone molds, but they are vented, I think with 2.5-3 mm vents. I do think that I’m up against a fitter that doesn’t have the experience to deal with my loss, much as he tries hard. There apparently was another fitter, but he left. They have hired another, and will hire a third. But the other is new, and I would basically have to ask my fitter to switch, and I like him! Now the fitters have to man the front desk, too—yikes!
So, is it likely that the problem is due to the molds not being occlusive enough? They also don’t stay in my ears well if I try to take a mask off carefully. But shootist said molds aren’t magical for that problem.
Back when my very first custom molds arrived, my then audiologist thought the vents were too large. As a temporary test, she plugged them up using broken tips from a toothpick. You could give that a try if it seems reasonable. I don’t “remember” the plugs making any noticable difference, however. Even after trying the same thing at home.
Obviously, make sure you can get the plugs back out if you give it a try.
My current Costco-fitted molds have a very small vent. Hard to get an exact measurement, but using my calipers, they are about 1.3mm in diameter. I absolutely love custom molds compared to those horrible itchy domes, btw.
One other thought about trying a different Costco - you could go that route and still switch back to the same Costco you now use later-on. A second opinion type of thing would be no big deal, especially considering your difficulties.
Thank you @shootist . I have a clear silicone mold with a skeleton lock. Where would the vents be? I can’t figure it out. I see a tiny hole into the ear, and I see 1 tiny black hole(?) in the side, but nothing else that I can see?
I was going to try taping up the vents, but . . .
I am now finding that sometimes I can hear streaming phone calls into the aids and understand speech, although the sound certainly isn’t great. At other times, it is atrocious. Up until now, I’ve used the speaker phone, which is better than streaming, although not always great. My husband says that the phones speakers are teeny, so not the best.
I tried switching carriers to see if that made a difference, which it doesn’t.
Maybe this is as good as it gets. And if the molds are redone maybe with smaller vents, or none at all, it would be better?
I Precise Volume app for Android? I don’t see it in the iPhone App Store.
Would any app for adjusting sound work? I’m not sure how it would work, but maybe my husband can help me figure it out.
On the molds issue, I now have silicone molds, but they need to be remade. I think that, among other things, the vents need to be either eliminated or made smaller. I’m not sure where the vents are! All I see is a tiny hole into the ear, and an even tinier black hole(?).
I’m demoing the same jabra hearing aids so I’m able to compare the streaming quality to my older Phonak Paradise. Unfortunately it’s no contest.. the Phonaks have much better streaming sound quality. Perhaps it’s the type of Bluetooth connection they use?
Yes correct you should, now I just wondered if you’ve got some phone settings you could try, Android 16 has some new settings I believe, but I run an older version and use PowerAmp which has made my streaming near perfect, try it, unfortunately won’t make any difference to your calls tho.
I’m starting a new thread, because my previous one is long and unwieldy. I did, however, make some posts this am that could use answering.I wrote to specific people.
My main issue with the Jabras is that the streaming of phone calls isn’t good (& presumably other streaming). That is a step up from where it was, it was completely unintelligible before. Now, with the molds, and a lot of tweaking, I can make out what is being said, but the sound quality is really bad.
It took Jabra a long time to make the molds, since they moved. Right after my Costco appointment to get them, I had a lot of feedback!! I took off my mask very carefully and the came off, and the molds came mostly off!! Arghhh!
I have continued to have a lot of feedback, and the molds seem to come a bit out, even with no mask in play.
Clearly I need new molds, and probably either no vents, or very small. But I am up against a deadline to return these, if I do, by February 21st. Which would be very tight to get an appointment to have impressions taken again, get the new molds in (& they won’t even make an appointment until they are in) and then see how they are. If I did want to return them, I need an appointment for that!
I tried to get a referral to a fitter or Audi who is experienced, and I did get one, but she is booked up until February 24th! But they probably thought it was for a first appointment with a hearing test, etc. I’ll call back again.I also tried to get an appointment for the fitter I’ve had, but the vm box was full! I don’t think that he’s had much experience with molds.
I still have been wanting to make these work, if possible. They do really help me to hear better, but I’m still having to ask what was said, but the molds haven’t been made right yet. But maybe that just won’t work too well. The other 2 models Costco has have been out at least 1-1/2 years, so I’d hate to get the older model, and then want to return them when the new ones come out. I read here that Costco really doesn’t like it if you return them, and that would be returning 2 pairs.
When you get molds, can they be used with a HA from a different manufacturer?
