I just got Jabra pro 30s and the Avantree Voyager transmitter. The Voyager has has a 3.5mm jack on it. I have tested it on my laptop and an old android phone with a 3.5mm jack. It worked wonderfully after figuring out how to get tge firmware updated. I was pleased and surprised by how easy it us to use , and it has great clarity. I fly with it next week. I am considering getting the Avantree Audikast 4 for TV streaming.

I was going down the same path. I have headphone jacks (3.5mm) on both of my TVs. I could use to hear the TVs with the voyager. However the TV speakers output turns off at that point. The Audiokast 4 also has an optical output. So, from what I understand, the audio settings on TVs often have an optical output setting that would allow the output to both the transmitter and the TV’s speakers simultaneously. Alas, my TV is not that smart. I don’t have that setting.

Question: If I buy the Avantree C82 adapter, do I have to go to the hearing aid app every time to connect? Is there an option to do it automatically?

Hi Marko, it depends on your hearing aid model. Some hearing aids can remember the C82 Aura and reconnect automatically, while others may require you to select it again in the app.

What brand and model of hearing aids are you using? We can check for you.

I don’t know of an Avantree . To use the Voyager you need a compatible HA. Avantree has that list on their website in the product description. Is that what you’re asking?

Well, I see the confusion. The Voyager is a transmitter. The broadcast is transmitted to hearing aids. I think has gotten that one wrong. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

I use the Voyager transmitter with my Jabra (ReSound) hearing aids.

I see. 2 different Voyager devices. I am having a “learn something new everyday” moment. Both links says it will work with hearing aids, but the description of the Voyager says to choose the Voyager if using with hearing aids because it is “optimized for hearing aids”. I did check what I bought on Amazon. I have the Voyager HA. The Voyager description does say it’s compatible with hearing aids.

My understanding is that the Voyager is optimized to give better fidelity to hearing aids than the Voyager (not HA). This probably provided better music fidelity.

Voyager does 24khz sampling rate (with option to toggle) while “plain” voyager is set to 48khz. Many HAs don’t like the 48khz. That’s the main difference. HW is the same, this is a firmware difference.

Yes. There should be an adjustment in the hearing aid app that lets you adjust the ratio of the streaming sound to what the microphones on your hearing aid pick up. Also, on most hearing aids, the tonal quality seems to be based on the hearing aid program you were in when you connect to the broadcast. In my experience, my hearing aid "Music" program seemed to give me the "best" auracast sound. (The one hearing aid where the auracast seemed to be independent of the program was the Starkey .)

I have and Aircast transmitter. Most devices I have tried, connect quickly and securely. I am having problems with maintaining a stable connection with my Resound Vivia hearing aids. After a minute or two one or the other hearing aid goes silent. Sometimes both loose connection. I am connecting using a Samsung S25 phone. It seems most likely that the problem is in the Resound Smart 3D app or the S25 software. I have tried numerous things to fix the problem with no success. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
