Only time there is a lag is when the sources are not the same.
I.E. Soundbar on WiFi & aids on optical. Why I split my optical out with a powered splitter to supply soundbar & my broadcaster.
There is a lag when I use Bluetooth headphones & optical soundbar. I have not checked if that would go away with Bluetooth soundbar feed.
Thanks for that reply ready123ca. My setup will be optical to the AudiKast 4 from the Samsung TV optical output. The TV is getting its input via HDMI from my A/V. So, we’ll see how it goes once I get the new Jabra 30’s. My concern is the audio lag between my home theater speakers and the hearing aids, which will be receiving signal from the AuraKast via Bluetooth.
Where is the source to your home theater speakers coming from? You haven’t mentioned that… you talk about input to tv is hdmi.
The source is optical so if your home theater sound is hdmi sourced there will be a lag… why I use an optical splitter to service both auracast transmitter & my soundbar.
Most TV’s don’t supply sound for both hdmi output & toslink.
As I mentioned, my A/V. I have an Onkyo TV-NR7100 A/V. So, the TV gets its signal from the A/V HDMI and I will send that signal from the TVs optical out to the Audikast. No one seems to have tried this exact setup, so I’ll give it a try and report back regarding audio sync issues (lag). There are also audio sync delay settings in both the TV and the Onkyo I can tweak. We’ll see……. Probably won’t get to all this until February.
You still are not answering my question. What is the route of the output sound when you are watching TV. You keep mentioning the A/V system but where does it get the input sound to amplify & send to spkrs? rca, hdmi, optical, ethernet?
Any content (cable box, Roku, BluRay player etc) routes into the A/V receiver via HDMI. The A/V is the gate keeper. Any signals into the A/V receiver are sent out via HDMI. So, once the TV receives the audio/video signals from the receiver via HDMI I can output the audio from the TVs optical out port to the AudiKast optical input. Does this answer your question?
Now I understand the routing. Do you see any lag between your AV speakers and the TV speakers? I appeciate you have to turn them on to check? Maybe you can feed headphones from the TV?
There may in fact be a lag from optical TV out vs the sound from AV speakers taken from hdmi input connected Roku etc.
If so you could use the optical out from AV unit to connect to AudiKast transmitter.
It is not possible to listen to both the TVs internal speakers and the home theater speakers at the same time. It’s one or the other, as that’s part of the home theater set up process with the TV. So, there’s no way to run that audio sync check. Now, even if I was wanting to plug headphones into the back of the TV (which I don’t) there are no analog jacks back there anyway. And running an audio optical out of the receiver is not an option, as receivers don’t have optical out ports, only digital optical inputs. But, both the Onkyo and the Sammy TV have audio delay (Sync) adjustment capabilities, 0-100ms, so I’m hopeful if there is an audio latency (lag) I may be able to adjust for it. Avantree specs call out less than 100ms latency for some of the Bluetooth profiles, so we’ll just have to wait and see how it all works out. Should be into the new Jabra 30’s 1st of February (Costco appointment late January) and I’ll give it all a go. Worst case scenario is I’m listening to the TV with my new Jabras and I’m out $80 for the AudiKast 4HA . No worries, thanks for all your suggestions and time responding.
You say: It is not possible to listen to both the TVs internal speakers and the home theater speakers at the same time. It’s one or the other, as that’s part of the home theater set up process with the TV…
Even by using the TV remote to turn on the TV speakers?
Seems odd to me as from what you describe the sound comes from the devices connected to the AV Receiver then to speakers… so you don’t use sound output from TV.
I cannot get sound from the TV speakers with my Home Theater setup. I have tried putting the TV in ‘TV Speakers” mode (verses Optical). No go. But I know the TV speakers a working, because I can hear all the TV remotes button pushes and screen menu changes from the TV speakers (while A/V receiver is muted) while in the ‘TV Speakers” mode. A little research and I found this is normal Samsung TV behavior in an eARC environment.
C82 LEA → LE Audio / Classic Bluetooth for personal listening
I’m still waiting to get the green flashing to connect my Rextons. I keep trying to follow the instructions to the letter but only get blue flashing thus no connection. Still haven’t given up. Yet.

Signia Pure Charge&Go IX → LE Audio only, no Auracast (with the firmware 25.5.972.3 or newer)
Signia Styletto IX → LE Audio only, no Auracast
Signia Active Pro C&G IX → LE Audio only, no Auracast
Rexton Reach → LE Audio only, no Auracast (with the firmware 25.5.972.3 or newer)
Widex Allure → LE Audio only
Out of curiosity, what advantage has over for hearing aids, also, can we use hands free calls with any of the them if the hearing aid is capable?
My understanding is the these dongles (LEA and Auracast) transmit sounds to the from any sources, but the sound from the HA is sent directly to the phone or PC/MAC if using call apps (like whatsapp, viber, teams, zoom,….), is this correct or a zillion galaxies away from correct?
We’d love for you to try the C82 LEA and share your feedback with us!
The following hearing aids are not supporting /
Starkey Livio Ai , Phonak Paradise , ReSound One and ReSound LiNX Quattro, Signia Pure Charge&Go AX
They are all legacy models / older generations and they have not the needed hardware.
This hearing aids are supporting only Mfi and (only Phones) , except Phonak which support classic Bluetooth.
I wear (with great satisfaction) Philips 9050 HearLink hearing aids from Costco, with the firmware updated to 1.3.0 for the ability to receive broadcasts. I wanted to transmit the sound directly from my Sony BRAVIA TV (purchased 11 years ago) to my hearing aids using Auracast, avoiding the purchase cost of the proprietary TV adapter from Philips and giving me access to Auracast broadcasts wherever I am wearing my hearing aids (as Auracast becomes increasingly available in cinemas, churches, airports and auditoriums).
On Saturday evening, December 27, I used the Avantree website to order an Audikast 4 Audio Transmitter for Hearing Aids. Total cost (including sales tax and shipping) : US $74.80. The transmitter was delivered this afternoon (December 31). It took me less than 15 minutes to read the clear instructions and install the device. It has worked perfectly since I turned it on – sending crystal clear sounds to my hearing aids, and the sound on the TV set itself can be muted for silence in the room and house in case I am the only TV viewer/listener at the time.
I’m writing this to encourage any of you readers who have Auracast-ready hearing aids to consider this wonderful, reasonably-priced way to thoroughly enjoy TV broadcasts with perfect sound. So helpful for films with actors speaking with challenging foreign accents, etc. Check with your hearing aid provider or manufacturer to see if your aids are able to receive Auracast broadcasts.
@Nate
The Rexton Reach (aka Signia Pure C&G IX) does not support Auracast.
But the Rexton Reach ( and Signia IX) are compatible with LE Audio with the firmware 25.5.972.3 or newer.
Yes, I have the latest updates on both my Rextons and my Pixel 10. So does that mean that if I never get connected thru the Avantree LE dongle I now have plugged into my left USB port that a transmitter from Avantree into my right side audio port might work?
I hope you don’t mind me tacking this on here. I couldn’t find a more appropriate thread and I didn’t want to start a new one. I’ve got an Audikast 4 connected to a TV and a C82 Aura connected to a laptop.
I can reliably take a broadcast from the Audikast 4 by selecting that stream in the Philips app (Pixel 8 Pro). Audio starts immediately. It’s not so straightforward with the Aura. I initially get no sound at all with either no message or a message in the app telling me that my phone is playing audio (it’s not) and for that reason it can’t initiate taking that broadcast in my hearing aids (Philips). The solution is to start playing audio on my phone and to then stop it. At that point the hearing aids start taking the broadcast from the Aura. I can’t work out why that would happen with the Aura but not the Audikast. Same phone, selecting the broadcast in the same way. No biggie, mainly just curious.
