Ai with Enhance Pro 30 CROS setup?

I’m considering a demo of the Enhance pro 30 from Costco. So I called the Jabra tech line to ask specific questions about how the “hearing in noise" (ai function) worked in CROS mode. And the jabra rep didn’t think it worked at all with this setup.

I thought this was odd. Obviously you can’t use it in the transmitting ear, but why can’t you use it in the receiving ear?

So does anyone with have experience with the enhance pro 30 CROS? And can you activate the “hearing in noise" function on them to use the ai 2nd chip to filter out unwanted noise?

The reason why it can’t work in the setup you describe is that the function basically just steers the four microphones on a pair of aids in order to focus on where it detects speech as coming from and reduce sounds from other directions.

The chip doesn’t “filter” noise at all.

Interesting. A google search says it “uses -powered technology, including a deep neural network (), to improve speech clarity in noisy environments.”

Perhaps it uses both the microphone steering you mentioned and the DNN?

I’ll find out exactly what it can & can’t do next week when I’m speaking to the audiologist. Just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it so I know what to ask etc.

It uses the chip to identify what of the noise is speech and what isn’t. You can easily read the explanations by GN Resound if you want to.

But the important thing is that the DNN isn’t a filter. It is used to “intelligently” steer the microphones. And the purpose is, as your Google search says, to improve speech intelligibility in noisy environments.
