When will the Sennheiser Sonite Rise arrive at Costco and which Phonak model will it be comprable to

Checked with Costco and they will be paired with the Phonak version 6 series receivers. They had literally just switched over to the new Sennheiser Rise aids yesterday, the same day I had my appointment, so it just wasn’t properly implemented into the system yet. They told me that the 5 series receivers wouldn’t even work properly with the new Rise aids - so all looks good - we’ll see how they are next Tuesday.

@portage, yes I was very satisfied with the hearing appointment - it was even more extensive than the audiologist appointment I had 2 weeks ago that my health plan referred me to. The audiograms from both tests are practically dead on also. Extensive word recognition test (twice as long as the other one) and also a very thorough hearing with background noise test.

They do the REM service and the REM will be done next Tuesday at the fitting and you can follow up as necessary. Hard to beat the 3 year loss and damage warranty and mostly — — The Price - almost $$$ 7 grand for the same thing from my first health plan referral. I get a $4,000 allowance from my health care plan every 3 years for hearing aids so this will cost me $0 because I paid Costco for them and will be reimbursed by my provider.

It’s a mystery to me how much of a difference in price there can be in the hearing aid world. I know the phrase, you get what you pay for. But that does not seem to apply to the hearing aid economy. Yes, sometimes it seems to apply, but there are so many exceptions that all I can come up with is the weak “it all depends.”

I also have the Costco Sonite R. Do you mean that there will be an update for the “ise” and we can keep the same aids? I hope it is better with speech in noise.

Well they’re selling latest HAs in other brands, only Phonak (Sonova) tried to dump old stock with Lumity platform, Infinio is the latest platform.

I would be curious to hear what you think about moving from the R to the Rise. It should be noticeable.

It is in the US. I just purchased one down in Southern California.

Does the Rise have “guards” or whatever for the speakers/microphones?

I recall hearing (pun intended) that newer aids have some kind of protection. My Jabra 10’s have failed way too often for my liking and the fixes have pretty much always been to replace the innards.

I concur. Phonak’s (Sennheiser) have really good background noise control and a different microphone design.

Could some of you knowledgeable and helpful members please explain the difference to me between Costco Sennheiser Rise and Phonak Infinio Ultra Sphere? I tried on the Sphere at my audiologist’s office today and I love the way they feel. The silicone domes fit my small ear canals and do not hurt my TMJD. The audi would not program them for me to try unless I bought them and they have a return policy of 30 days and a return cost of $300. (Yeah I know, great audi but stingy company) I would much prefer Costco’s generous trial and return policy but my hearing loss is severe to profound and WRS L 54 R26 so I need every bit of help I can get at any cost (No I cannot have a CI) Purchasing the Sonite Rise would save $4300 but if the Sphere would help my hearing I will pay the difference. Thanks everyone!

In a nutshell the Infinio Ultra Sphere has the additional deepsonic AI chip, which removes the noise once a certain threshold is triggered. Whereas the Costco Sennheiser Rise is just equivalent to the Inifinio Ultra, which does not have the AI chip.

There is still some element of AI with the standard Infinio Ultra hearing aid, in that Autosense was designed using AI. It is still a very good premium hearing aid.

This has been discussed in another thread (see below). The main differences between the Infinio I90 (twin of Rise) and the Infinio Sphere are the Sphere’s the speech in loud noise performance (significantly better) and size, with the Sphere being larger.
