How long does the Rise battery last for each charge? And is there much of a difference in the sound quality between the new Rise and the older Phonak Lumity L90?

Less then a day for sure, and only you could possibly know if the Rise is a worthy upgrade, trial and error is the only way for you to know.

I’ve got a demo pair (from Costco). My only comparison is my Jabra 20s. These are fine, but not mind blowing. I don’t like the way it makes background sounds sound. Wind sounds totally unnatural.
Battery easily lasts all day, although I haven’t looked at what percentage left when I throw them in the charger. I’ll try to give an update on that. I’m currently at 72% at 3:30 pm. Put them on at 8:30 am
Some people seem to not like the Easy Line app, but I like it better than the Jabra app.

You should try the Starkey Omega 24. They are amazing. Big improvement over the previous Edge model. Almost as good as Phonak Sphere Ultra in noisy enviornment, but betterwith more natural sound and the 360 is awesome.

Don’t be too quick to judge, the sounds can be further adjusted and the wind noises can be quieted down. You can increase the background sounds to be louder, more intelligible or sharper.

Maybe I can do something, but I stick by what I said. There’s no miracle to found in these hearing aids. I have found no discernable difference in being able to hear speech better.
Regarding wind noise, I’m not wanting the wind noise in the aids to be turned down. That’s easy. What I meant was real wind noise in the trees. Doesn’t sound like wind to me.
Will be interesting to hear how the Jabras sound when I go back to them in a couple weeks.

As @markoo355 mentioned, the issues you brought up can be resolved (most likely) with the programming software. Like you, I’d rather hear the wind than have it muted. I had an issue once where the wind sounded hollow, like through a tunnel while the wheel tires sounded loud and unnatural on the road.
In the meantime, while waiting for your next appointment, try experimenting with the app settings to see if adjusting the EQ and noise reduction controls improves the sound. This information can be useful for the fitter during your next programming session.

I’ve used the Phonak Infiinio Spheres (from the ) since last May and love them, especially compared to my Philips 9040s. As I understand it, the new Sennheiser Rise uses the same chip as my Phonaks. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend the new Rise.

Not quite. The Rise uses one of the chips that the Infinio Sphere has but does not have the Sphere chip.

I tried the Sennheiser Sonite Rise today and they were programed by an actual Costco audiologist. Audi was soft spoken but I could understand her speech better. Unfortunately, my own voice was so distorted that I could not tolerate them. Audi made a couple adjustments to no avail and told me since I currently wear Oticon Real I should stick with the Oticon brand. I am disappointed because I think they Rise could have been programmed differently to avoid my own voice distortion. I had tried on a pair of the Phonak Ultra Sphere at my current audiologist office but audi would not program them unless I purchased them first so I don’t know if they would work better for me. I did notice that the actual Sphere have a new unique dome design that was very comfortable and supposed to eliminate feedback. Costco did not have these domes available. I think the Sennheiser Sonite Rise would work well for many of you if programmed correctly and certainly worth a try with Costco’s generous trial period.

With your hearing loss you probably shouldn’t use domes, maybe power domes at most.
However, the most powerful receivers (which are for you) Phonak UP or probably Oticon’s 105 comes only with custom earmolds/cShells, which is good.
Honesty, I highly recommend try to make an earmold with no vent or ~0.5 mm pressure vent with most powerful receiver.
What do you mean saying your voice was distorted? Could you specify more?

The audi would not program them for me to try unless I bought them and they have a return policy of 30 days and a return cost of $300.
That’s really cheap mercantilism. Back in January 2023, my audi gave me free trials of the Phonak Lumity and the ReSound Omnia. They were supposed to be sequential trials. I forget what came up, but she let me have both at the same time for several weeks so I could compare them side by side. Phonak provides “universal” trial hearing aids (they can be made to emulate several different levels of a model, e.g., 50, 70, 90, and they can be programmed to stop working after a time period set by the audi. So, if your audi was inclined to make the same effort as mine, they could probably let you have a free trial hearing aid for a period of their choosing. Phonak probably offers trial hearing aids at a substantial discount to audis since they are essentially sales promotional material.
My audi “disinfected” the trials after I returned them by throwing away the slim tips and wiping down the hearing aid bodies and receivers with an alcohol wipe. So, perhaps some audis might feel there is a sanitation problem with sharing one set of trial hearing aids out to many people. OTH, what do they do with the you buy and return for a $300 restocking fee after your trial? Throw them away?

I have the original Sennheiser aids, and I bought them a year ago when I was having reliability problems with my S10’s. The difference is a nice step up, and the Rise should be another nice step up from that. I would say it is worth doing now.

For Canadians — I contacted Costco today and they confirmed that the Sennheiser Sonite Rise will not be available at Canadian Costco locations. ![]()

@OcramSagev The agent on the phone said he spoke to his manager and was instructed to tell me that Costco would not be carrying the Sennheiser Sonite Rise. He also mentioned that there is no software for it in their system and there has been no training given on that product.
(Canada only)

That means they have not received the information but that may change in the near future. Costco staff do not get info in advance until the get the official notice with the training.
The Sennheiser Rise uses the same software is the same as the Sonite R so his/her explanation doesn’t make sense to me unless the Sonite R is not currently sold in Canadian Costcos (but Sennheiser’s web page does say they are available in Canada).
Maybe they will have the Rise in near future – In the US, they are not available everywhere yet.
