I didn't know the Hear In Noise feature did that

I hate sports broadcasting on TV, especially on Fox, because they include so much g——–d crowd noise. They’re doing it again with the World Cup.

In frustration, I tried out my Jabra 30 hotshot HIN program. It worked! No more crowd noise! I can hear the play-by-play and commentary!

If you have problems with broadcast crowd noise, your HIN program may work, whatever aids you use.

Since I mainly watch bike racing, what I really want my to do is to turn all the accents I hear into Rhode Islandese, and I’m not holding my breath, but it’s such a relief to shut crowd noise down!

…Or am I the only one here who minds crowd noise….

I solve that problem by not watching sports. It holds nothing for me and frees up a lot of time for other things.

Yep, I do the same thing with my Phonak Sphere i90s. Lots of uses for the noise reduction.

I watch movies in our theater room with it turned on because my wife talks a lot during movies. Sometimes to me and sometimes to the actors, directors or writers. She thinks I need to hear what she says. I really don’t, but it’s hard to explain that to her.

I don’t like listening to the commentators either. So I rarely have sound on at all when watching sports of any kind.

That’s so funny! Especially because I do the same, “No!! Don’t do it!! Or, hurry up, hurry up, watch out!” Etc., etc.

During the Knicks games, oh, boy, I was really vocalizing; they were incredible! And the games were real nail biters.

And Wemby, yikes, that guy is a baby, and has a lot to learn! He wouldn’t even shake the hands of any of the Knicks.

We’re having a ticker tape parade for the Knicks tomorrow. I was saying to my husband that I wanted to go, and he got mad, not realizing that it was only aspirational. That’s for much younger people. It’s exciting though, they really made history. Brunson is a wonder. It the culmination of a lifetime of work. (Totally OT!).

Thank goodness for the Mute button.

Much of my sports viewing is muted.

Crowd noise seems to be be greater on college than NFL.

Most commentators have diarrhea of the mouth.

The videos of the international visitors trying foods (like chicken fried steak with sausage gravy and biscuits) or visiting things like Buc-ee’s have been wonderfully amusing. Also word that the Scots have drained some of the Boston bars of all of this or that beer. Something not typically heard….

My wife doesn’t talk during movies, but she tries to talk to me when we’re watching TV, and I’m streaming. And I try to converse with her at night, after my are in the charger - and I can’t understand her unless her mouth is a foot or 2 from one of my ears. Go figure.

Bike races on TV need play-by-play because the peloton usually splits into many parts and the POV changes rapidly from one group to another. Viewers tend not to know riders by their numbers (each rider wears a unique number), and a viewer can’t see all the numbers anyway.

Even if one hates sports, you might appreciate a World Cup game. There’s something compelling and worthwhile I see in them that I don’t see in any other sport. You might, too.

I discovered the same thing, and to get even more control on how much the crowd/race-car/whatever noise you want to suppress, Hear In Noise is the feature to use, along with the Wind Noise and Noise Reduction sliders in the Jabra.app give you even more control over the offending noise level. I find it useful to Save those settings to create a new program I call “Noisy”. It’s a quick way to suppress the annoyance quickly, and later you can fine tune more with the sliders.

That’s the best post I’ve ever read on HearingTracker.

I have the organic version of noise reduction. It’s called “selective hearing,” and I use it all the time.

Frankly I’d prefer just the crowd noise and not the politically correct propaganda of the ‘new normal’ so called experts…imo of course.

Dear philbo57, I’m glad you finally solved your problem. I think every higher-end has a special program – in my case, “Noisy Environment” + optional tuning to better highlight the voice on it.

Thank you! Crowd noise is so bad for me it almost hurts. My husband who loves sports of any kind claims I don’t like sports because I have to leave the room. I’ll show him your post. Ten times worse is the sudden increased volume of the commercials. That can make me rip my out of my ears.
