OK… My turn! I’m chagrined to say that I’d posted specific steps on how to INSTALL the Roger On iN license onto a pair of Phonak aids. Those directions ended with how to UNINSTALL the license in case you wanted to transfer that precious license to another pair of Phonak aids.
But like you, I just found out today that I seem unable to REMOVE the license from the two (legitimate!) pairs of aids that I’ve cross-licensed with my two (Phonak required to buy) Roger ON mics. I’m utterly perplexed! I’ve repeated the same steps over and over and over and over for a solid hour today. I’m unable to REMOVE the license from one of my older pair of rechargeable Phonaks.
I’ll be picking up a new pair of Phonak Lumity Life 312s on Friday. I was told to bring my TWO Roger mics in with me so we could get the license on the new pair of aids. But, um, er, do I have to REMOVE that license from the rechargeable they’re on right now? Cuz if so, it can’t seem to be done.
Was I forced into buying TWO (redundant) Roger mics that I initially cross-licensed with TWO pairs of aids a year ago when I could’ve just bought ONE Roger mic and put that license on 4 aids (2 pairs)?
I have no idea. I guess I’ll take my two Roger mics in with me to the audi’s on Friday. I’ve already got the license from both mics on my Phonak 312 Precious Pinks, which I’ll leave as-is.
Unless she tells me … I’ll say NOTHING about that same license also being on a pair of older rechargeable aids, too. Then I’ll see if she’s able to put the license on my new pair of Phonak Lumity Life 312s Caribbean Pirate. If so, well, call me a PIRATE!
I’ve never been able to figure out how the Roger licensing thing works. It seems we were told we needed to BUY a mic for each PAIR of aids. But now I wonder if that was BS?
Thoughts?
