Compression and additional programs

I haven’t found a way to change the compression using Starkey Pro Fit on Genesis . Surely compression isn’t a fixed number. I want to be able to get as close to 1.1 across the board. Also, I’ve only been able to overwrite Program 1 on the aids rather than load a second program. --Steve

Yeah so something isn’t quite right, you need to use linear formula, I’m quite sure you have this option in profit, DSLv5a would be a good start, same with adding additional programs, should be straight forward, we have another forum member that knows Starkey better then me, ask @firenzel

getting compression ratio to 1.1

Select desired fitting rationale
Open Fine Tuning

Select Finetuning

Select CR to show and adjust Compression Ratio

Select Compression Ratio CR

Select Loud and then push all loud frequencys UP until CR = 1

Push Loud UP until CR = 1

Select Soft and then push all soft frequencys DOWN until CR = 1

Push Soft down until CR = 1

Now all frequency channels have 1:1 compression
Compression ratio = 1:1

All CR now 1 to 1

Wow, thank you so much. I’ll dig in and see where this takes me. Also, are you familiar with the analog circuit called K-Amp. Despite having moderately severe loss that was the best hearing for me. As my hearing progressed down so did the feedback from the aids. If I could get close to the K-AMP with the Gemini and control the feedback, that would be wonderful. --Steve

The K - AMP hearing instrument helps the hearing-impaired ear do what it used to be able to do for itself: amplify the quiet sounds. The K-AMP circuitry compensates for recruitment. It has a high ratio of compression in the high frequency bands and a low ratio of compression or none in the low frequency bands. I also had a hearing aid with the K-Amp circuit. My audi at that time was the wife of the man who developed it. Best hearing I ever had and I have worn for 65 years.

Sorry, i’m not familiar with this. And also not wearing the Starkey Genesis hearing aids. Had older legacy Starkey in the past and used to programm this with the Starkey Inspire software. The Pro-Link have just a new user interface , but handling is not much different.
