My father used tuning forks in his practices for years.
When I became a HHP I really saw no use for them as most of the validation/verification had been taken over electronically.
I recently started using his set and was instantly amazed at how much it aided in programming…Using the Weber, Schwabach, Rinne and Bing tests, I have been able to deal with issues instantly…or at least understand a bit more about the .
Using the 512/1024 Hz tuning fork 30" in front of the user will tell you which side is louder, and of course you turn that side down until the tone is balanced in both ears…I trust the algorithms of the first fit, but am surprised sometimes by how much I drop some patients for basic first fit balance.
I am sure Amazon has a few sets.
They work well and for my patients who have a leaning towards Naturopathic remedies, they love it when I pull them out. (Gives them harmonic balance).
Try a set out, quells a lot of complaints with balance.
