I’ve had the Jabra Pro 20’s for 1.5 years. Prior to these I was in the OPN 1’s.
I’ve had to replace the left 2x and just recently the right HA (Costco). So in 1.5 years I’ve had to replace/exchange 3x. I haven’t been super happy with them, lots of things that bother me that my old OPN’s didn’t do…hair in mic, odd sounds while wearing sun glasses or baseball hats, constantly adjusting sound based on noises. In some situations they do work better than my old HA’s. Long story short, when I went in for this last replacement, I asked to trial the 9050’s. The Costco manager prob felt sorry for all the hassles I’ve gone through so he’s going to let me wear a set for a couple weeks starting Friday.
So while I can’t give you an impression between the Pro 30 and 9050, I will be able to give you one between the Pro 20 and 9050 ![]()

Yeah hope it goes well for you, nothing worse then having issues like that, I’m sure you’ll notice quite a difference between those two brands.

I’ve been wearing ’s for over 25 years and as you can imagine I have quite a hearing deficit. I’m in the process now of wearing my first Jabra 30’s from Costco for about 2 weeks now. My last pair were the KS-9’s from the same place that I purchased 6 years ago and they are true Bluetooth capable. There is quite a learning curve to these Jabra’s after wearing my old pair. Some good and some not so good IMO. They’re Bluetooth is limited to they’re system and does not work with my laptop or TV without purchasing another device. When playing music, they certainly do not sound as good as my old KS-9’s. When taking phone calls the 30’s require that you have the phone very close by and with my old HA’s I could have the phone just about anywhere in the house. They do sound somewhat tinny and I’m getting a lot of feed back but my fitter is still doing some minor adjustments for this issue. On the plus side I can hear conversations somewhat better in most situations and that is my primary reason for updating my HA’s. I can’t comment on the Phillips 9050’s but if you are a veteran user of HA’ you might want to consider my comments here if you’re considering a new pair of the Jabras. I think that the service at Costco has been stellar. I certainly have no complaints there.

You will need some new devices to listen to your TV and laptop, but you are not limited to their brand since these hearing aids can be connected through .
You didn’t state what brand and model your phone is, so you may have to do something there too.
Your alternative is to return the Jabra 30 and trade them for the Sennheiser hearing aids which still use the old Bluetooth classic, but you won’t get Auracast with them.

We’ve been waiting for such a beast for a while. I’ll copy it verbatim. I don’t think there’s anything there that they want to keep private. A positive experience with the 9050’s speech in noise last night
The circumstances were right I guess - in a booth, one side protected by a short glass partition, the other was open to the dining room and behind us was the kitchen access. It was loud, but the switch to really helped filter the distractingly loud stuff out. It’s the first really noticeable improvement I’ve experienced so far. It’s still early days for me and the ’s, and for these situations. And I know they’re not going to work miracles but this was good. No struggle to hear the person across the table ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ![]()

FWIW; Molds at Costco are only $39.99/each, but have the same 180 day money back/satisfaction guarantee

I may try them, ive just heard they change the dynamics for general hearing situations. Can they be swapped easily for the open domes i have now, or would that need to be done by the fitter?

You make an appointment. They make the mold by injecting a silicone mixture which takes about 5 - 10 minutes to set up. From there it takes about a week til they come back with the receiver embedded in them. I was using power domes (severe to profound loss). They are definitely an improvement for me - incremental, but noticeable. Current ha 9050’s.
If you do decide to go in this direction, and if you are someone who changes the regularly, don’t forget to ask for new filters and also for the wires that you use to clean the vent holes.

would that need to be done by the fitter?
Yup! If you had molds with power receivers, you usually can’t remove the molds. Other strength receivers, it should be adjusted by your . But it will still work, just not as well. Also, you probably won’t need power receivers like @ron_s3 does, so your molds will probably have removable receivers.

Thanks i may go that route if i find little improvement going forward in those situations. It’s a balancing act of sorts, between overall use and that scenario, which i don’t find myself in all THAT often.

Would removable receivers do anything to make it easier to swap between the molds and my current domes? Or no?

Based on your audogram your fittr is not going to recommend more powerful receivers, IMO. Mine did on my newish Jabra 20s. FWIW I’ve used custom domes for years and have no desire to go back to domes.

I don’t expect a more powerful receiver recommendation, based on my hearing loss as you say. My question about removable receivers was regarding convenience - would i be able to swap the custom domes for domes that would be used the rest of the time like the open domes i have now. If that’s not something i could do myself I’d probably be less inclined to go that way, mainly because I’m not in those situations very often. But also because I’m generally happy with the performance otherwise and don’t want to introduce any occlusion to the mix, etc

I have never attempted to swap out my receivers betweem domes and my custom molds. “Probably” not a good plan, but your fitter would be a better source to ask if its feasible.
I know when a receiver goes bad (usually a damaged/broken wire) it’s a fairly quick fix to install the new receiver. I’m unsure if a programing update would be required or not.

Any change of receivers or coupling (dome or mold ) requires a refitting with real ear .
Or a do it yourself with in-situ.

OK, so it’s not a diy thing at all, which is making it easier to decide how to go. It’s good to know these options are available if i want to try them at some point. I feel like I’m still so new to ’s that I need to give them the time to do their thing before i start trying to ‘improve’ them.
I appreciate the shared knowledge ![]()

You can swap out the same power of receiver without refitting, but of course changing the dome/molds would require this, is the obvious choice, 5min all done.
