Jabra Enhance Select 700-- what is your experience with these? Good noise suppression?

The Enhance Pro 30s are available. If you can get to a Costco, I think you’ll find the EP 30 a better deal by far than the 700s - lower cost, better warranty, probably better service, prescription instead of OTC….

I have the Jabra 700 hearing aids. Absolutely great . All I have to compare to are all the low cost hearing amplifiers for 400 buck or less both OTC & ITE models by several makers. The sea shell effect is all i got. All sounds turned up in volume equally with no real frequency delineation. The 2 or 4 modes were no help. I still couldn’t hear in crowded places like resurants. groups. or outdoors. The Jabra’s excellent filtering chip does all this automatically giving me 95% improvement over the 20% I got before stepping up. You get what you pay for!. I Could have saved 25% by foregoing Blue Tooth but I am glad I got it. I want to be able to pick up the coming broadcast nodes like Auracast as it is built out. The Audiologist Zoom meeting with Jabra was a breeze. They already had my audiogram installed on delivery . She sent me longer receiver transmitter wires because mine were too short for my ear length and pulled when installed . Got them fast, replacement easy and makes for a great balance. I initially would love hearing aids that reduced all sounds except voices but I’velearned that isn’t how our brain works and I think that would be confusing for it. We’re meant to hear sounds. It could also be dangerous to suppress all noise except voices. I think the hearing aids do an excellent job of suppressing sudden sounds. A kid picked up his metal chair in a restaurant the other day and slammed it on the wood floor and I was the only one who didn’t startle. Sudden loud sounds don’t startle me like they did with the other pair I was trialing, but normal sounds like opening an envelope or flushing the toilet sound normal level to me and not amplified like they were with the Widex.

I have an Android so if I call somebody I can hear them through the hearing aids but they hear me through my phone’s microphone which I have to hold up to my mouth. It’s not as seamless as it is with an Apple where you can talk and listen through the hearing aids. Otherwise I would have tested this for you to see what type of feedback I was getting from the person I called. I usually just use my home phone for calling.

Thanks. I have higher frequency loss and that might account for my improvement in noise environments. Picking up close voice word distinction from waiters at resturants much clearer. In Church the other day I got 99% word clarity in all readings. In fact I turned the volume down to 35% from 50% . Voice clarity setting is what I use in the large rooms with speakers at podiums. The middle bar treble is slide 30% up the right bar is slid 70% up in treble. I love the adjustability in the app . I leave it opened up on my phone when going into new environments. I don’t know what it would be like if I only needed low frequency hearing help but I hope you experiment with success!

This was a initial observation & I was getting used the wearing them. I now think the resturant test last week. with a 4 person round table for more table space, left me wanting better clarity . I tried all app settings and adjusted treble but none dialed me in. I wonder if the larger round table in middle room was a acoustical nightmare compared to a side booth.Anyway. I plan to try the phonak Spheres I90 to compare again. Boy. I see that most initial users of all this technology use the ship back refund period in the DIY online model to find their best aids. I prefer the cost savings over extended perks of local clinic audiologist shop switching out with them I’m guessing paying for local service for adjustments. cleaning, wax - domes
