Does anyone have an update as to when the Soundgear Amp will be released to all Costco stores?

The latest firmware version for

SoundGear AMP

(and compatible Starkey-made devices like Edge and Omega AI) is v10.3.1, released in early 2026. This update is significant as it enables Assistant functionality, allowing users to connect directly to public audio broadcasts.

How to Check and Update Your Firmware

You can verify your current version or install the latest update using the following methods:

  • In-Clinic Update: The most reliable way to receive version 10.3.1 is through an audiologist using Starkey Pro Fit software2 (v2026.0).

  • Mobile App: If your devices are paired with the My SoundGear or My Starkey app (Version 6.0.0 or later), you should receive an automatic notification when a new firmware version is available for download.

  • Update Process: In the app, tap the notification to open the firmware update screen. The process typically takes approximately three minutes.

Just received this from SG customer support:
“Thank you for contacting SoundGear Member Support! At this time, we are waiting for Costco to release the firmware update to their warehouse locations for the fitter to enable the Assistant on your SoundGear AMP hearing aids. Until then, we will only be able to use standard Bluetooth connections. We appreciate your patience.”

I was in Costco doing some shopping and stopped by the hearing aid center to ask up the firmware update. They were getting ready to close so didn’t have a lot of time but thought that they had the firmware to update the Amps so made an appointment for Friday morning. Hopefully, I will have an update then.

I connected my Homespot to a tv, messed around with some setting and now get the signal in my aids while the volume in the tv can be controlled separately. The sq is very good. The connection seems better than Bluetooth streaming but only played around for a few minutes. I have not been able to get the FlooGoo fma121 working yet.

Yeah those reviews are when the soundgear first came out but everyone’s hearing is different so maybe the wasn’t a good fit for them. The latest reviews has been very positive of the Soundgear but still there have not been a lot of reviews. Wish more people would post reviews of their Soundgear HA.

There are negative posts about every hearing aid out there. Unless, Costco somehow gets the SoundGear version of the Starkey Omega in the next 4 months, I will be keeping my Amps.

It’s now been six months for the Soundgear Amp trial period and there is no word from my local Costco as to when they may get them.

Has anyone else heard any news about the release of the Soundgear Ha?

Jamesdjs, Last week I was in the Costco closest to me, outside of Tacoma WA. I did not speak to anyone but picked up the four brochures on the counter which were Philips, Sennheiser, Jabra and Rexton. No Sound Gear.

Jamesdjs, Today I went to another nearby Costco. Same as last week, no Sound Gear. BTW, the Port Townsend paper mill is still operating. And when the wind is right when you’re nearby, you still can say, Oh yeah, that’s the smell of money.

I just picked up SoundGear AMP aids at a nearby Costco. The MySoundGear app version is 6.1, I don’t know how to check the firmware version of the aids themselves. Yes, they support , using MySoundGear app on an Android phone to establish the connection. My only test source of an Auracast broadcast is an Avantree c82 dongle plugged into a Windows laptop. The Auracast works, and the sound seems quite good.

I am trying to decide if these are good aids. The sound seems excellent, but the aids themselves have a limitation that concerns me: they are hard to operate without a cellphone app. You can’t even turn them off without either a charger or a cellphone, as best I can tell. There is only one button, which is configured by the installer at Costco, and there’s no LED (as best I can tell) to indicate the status (e.g., on or off) of the aids. Anyone have thoughts on how significant this limitation is, or am I mistaken. The manual that came with the aids is not particularly helpful or thorough.

The folks at Costco didn’t know when or even if other Costco’s will start selling the aid; the Costco I bought them at was not my local warehouse (which doesn’t carry them).

I go to Costco with my existing aids to have the domes and filters changed. Since most Costco’s don’t carry SoundGear aids, I suggest that when you pick them up you ask for a few spare domes and filters; the changing process is very similar to other aids I have had.

I’ve had mine for more than 3 months. I tend to use my app to control them. If you hold the buttons on the aids for a few seconds you will hear a sound that will go down in volume which is the aids going to sleep. You do the same to wake them back up. Not sure they “turned off” but I know they are no longer working. If you quick press the button on the right, it will increase volume. If you do it on the left, it will decrease volume. Each press, on either side, will continue to increase or decrease the volume.

I stopped in at my Costco on Friday evening and asked if they had the firmware update. They did and they installed it while I waited. They also gave my hearing aids a quick check to ensure everything was working properly. Huge shout out to the staff at the Lancaster PA Costco Hearing Aid Center. Always friendly and willing to help!

A few days ago at a Costco, I was fitted with a pair of the Soundgear AMP with custom mold .

It’s quite an experience to hear better and to have such nice conversations. My previous set of Starkey HAs are 16 years old, and no longer adjustable by Audiologists. Obsolescence due to age.

I specifically got the ones with replaceable batteries, as I’ve had for over 50 years.

I did not want the rechargeable batteries as they will eventually go bad, which might not be serviceable. Obsolescence due to technology.

In the Los Angeles area, the Burbank and Westlake Village stores are the Costco stores with the trained staff.

Alyssa at the Burbank Costco is excellent. Being a new product since December 2025, they have not fitted many people with the Soundgear AMP HAs.

When I leave a voicemail message, someone on the staff always calls me back within 24 hours. Thus far, they provide mighty exceptional customer service.

My first tuneup visit will be in about ten days.

I’m fairly pleased with the Soundgear AMP RIC HAs.

There are two big problems to solve:

  • is not displaying as an option on the Stream screen. I do have the latest version of the My Soundgear app on iPhone. The Audikast 4 is connected to the TV via Optical and the Sound is set to PCM.
  • .
  • Bluetooth has dropouts while streaming from iPhone to the HAs. This happens when the iPhone is in a pocket or in a cross-body strap. Everything is fine when the iPhone is in my hand at reading distance in front of me. I have the latest version of iOS on iPhone 15. I have restarted iPhone and restarted the HAs by taking out the replaceable batteries. Also reset the Network Settings on iPhone to clear out the Bluetooth software.

You likely need a firmware update. I had the same issue until a few weeks ago. I believe you need to be at version 10.3.1 on your amps and 6.1.2 on the app.
