looks like they gave up on adding the new Sphere tech. Too bad but I’m getting them anyway. A long time coming.

Finally! In unilateral fittings, I wonder how it would compare against the Sphere in noisy environments (considering Sphere has AutoSense 6.0 vs Virto R 7.0 but Sphere has DEEPSONIC dedicated chip whereas Virto R doesn’t)

Virto Infinio
“ERA chip technology is ready for future compatibility with ”. Hum… Auracast transmitters are out there… perhaps time to switch those chips on…

How much do in ears like this cost? I have not priced any but generally more/less/similar to Sphere which is Phonak’s most expensive . I guess it would be harder to find discounts through online vendors, Costco, etc. Do some people use both a RIC and an in ear?

These are so so late out. I wish they’d been around back in april when I picked up my titanium virtos, it would have been nice to do a comparison. Disposable batteries are a horrible nightmare when you’re blind and have a tiny kid.

I’m thinking it’s common for a pair of in ear hearing aids to be in the $6,000- $8,000 range in the US. I don’t think you’re going to find any online vendors that sell these. They’re also called Custom hearing aids. After a mold impression is made an order is sent to the factory and each aid is hand assembled. They essentially have to figure out how to get all the parts in this uniquely shaped container. Costco, at least in the past has sold some hearing aids and I believe prices have been in the $2500-$3000 range for a pair. (These are all US dollars)

Actually spacial awareness with the Virto Titaniums is honestly fantastic. I can hear sound around and above me and know where it’s coming from. The problem I have is that I@m losing so much in terms of bass frequencies now that the hearing aids just can’t keep up. I can pump in more bass but then the hearing aid just sound distorted and all the speech is masked out. where as if I put on a decent set of quality headphones and pump up the bass, things are clearer. We’re back to rubbish microphones and rubbish speakers
but yes, when they work, they work well.

Perhaps you need a smaller vent diameter to limit bass leakage outside? The story about headphones may confirm my supposition.
I am happy you’re finally glad about your . I don’t know if you are aware that Virto R has 2 mics.

Yeah I’m aware they have 2 mics not sure I can swap mine at this stage think it’s been too long sadly.
would kind of be curious to see if they are clearer or if I lose lots of localisation because they’re bigger. I will say that I have the smallest vent I can have and am capturing as much bass as I can. The thing is though, as someone who used to be a sound engineer, they are just terrible speakers. I mean really, we should be able to make something like airpod type speakers but I guess the physics of it don’t work or something. either way, it sounds like listening to the world through tin cans to me
and yes I’ve had them all programmed etc ![]()

There is quite good review.
Wow, look how much gain Virto Infinios SP can provide in 9600 Hz…!
Bummer that it doesn’t have a DEEPSONIC chip, but I understand there are space constraints…
I suppose Virto R Infinio could be better than Audeo Infinio R (non Sphere) due to better reaching target gains? Correct me if I am wrong.
@Emile030, are you interested?

I’m due to trial these some time at the end of September. My audio kindly had a conversation with Phonak and they were kind enough to extend my trial of the Virto Titaniums so I can give these ones a go. Will be interested to see how much localisation I lose wearing bigger aids but also how much clearer if any sound is, if they can provide better gains in the bass and also am going to try the roger devices as I’ve never trried those before. I’m also excited about not having to use batteries, small children and batteries are not a good combination.

Can’t wait for thorough review! I assume that Virto Infinio R still could provide you the benefits of the pinna effect for space awareness!

For the first time, I am interested in an . The specs, the features: They look impressive!
There is nothing impressive about the Infinio non-Sphere so I agree, the Virto R is way exciting. And they look phenomenal!
Edit: I am not comparing the Infinio non-Sphere with the Virto I R, what I am saying is that the former was never an exciting product and the Virto I R is (to me)

Yeah I think so, we’ll have to see. When I wear aripods I get some spacial awareness, probably not as detailed as the Virto R which I like by the way, but good to have the other tech in the hearing aids as well like Roger. I’m hoping they still do the roger neck loop with the that will be useful and if the iPhone ever gets LE audio then I can use the Virto Rs as earbuds… kind of ![]()

Very different types of hearing aids though. Completely different sound between those 2 unless you’re using custom molds for the non-spheres. I still really rate the speech in noise for the non-spheres and indeed for Phonak in general. I know not everyone does, but the more you plug your ear the more impressive it gets.

I wasn’t comparing them (or that was not my intent). My point was that the non-Sphere was never exciting to me and the VIrto I R is. I just edited my post for clarity

Ah I see apologies. Yeah non sphere is just an upgraded previous generation. Although personally I thought it sounded clearer with less delay. Now Virto R with the spheric chip in a few years, that, is going to be clever. also probably a little bit larger LOL.
