I wonder why possibility of gain in that Instagram post is so broad despite in datasheets Virto I R doesn’t seem impressive… Any thoughs? @tenkan?

For professionals - Virto™ Infinio Hearing Aid | Phonak17

With my P90 and UP receivers, I managed to get a good result despite my severe/profound loss, thanks to Soundrecover 2. I read the specifications of this Virto R, but I don’t see the Soundrecover: can you confirm that it is not included?

I can’t find anything with a detailed feature list but Sound Recover 2 has been a feature of every digital Phonak hearing aid for some time so I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be included. One could confirm by looking at Target software or talking to your audiologist.

One of the features I’m most excited about and it’s a weird one, when my audi tuned my Titaniums, I had to have cables hanging out of my ears. That meant the aids never sat right in my opinion, real ear testing was always harder because the cables were pulling the aids out away from the mic cables in my ears. I’m hopeful that this time I can move around more freely and he can tune the things whilst I interact with my environment as we have done for the style. This is a much mroe realistic approach for me. Also, remote care. I hate having to travel 1.5h in taxis and trains to see him just so he can tweak something. this time we can do it remotely on the phone. much more useful.

BTW finished testing out the S6 Titanium molds with automatic venting receivers as soundblockers: My measurements show that the Titanium moulds are the worst, they don’t block at all. (But they still stay my fitting favorites custom moulds at the moment).

Curious if your titanium molds have any kind of retention (concha lock or skeleton) I find that fit of a mold is very dependent on how securely it stays in place. Differences can be very subtle

Sorry, but are you asking me….
Yes they have, but actually they are not necessairely. You could push behind your ears to help them getting out together with pulling the rims they have.

Wow, remembering checklist for ActiveVent MAV receiver, you’re theoretically not elegible. Did you have with them? Have you reached targets, especially in higher frequencies before feedback threshold?

There is no possibility of skeleton or hemiskeleton. It ts offered only by Microsonics (Canada?) or Hörluchs in Germany. However, you can choose rough surface for better grip. I have quite high ear canal mobility with jaw movement (1-2mm, which reportedly places me inthe 10% most mobile canals) and I have no problem, I write about that in the links below.

Sorry I mixed up the retention and the removething!

I doubt the retention systems will be available in the titan version. The big Virto I90 is therefore unfortunately also not available in titanium. Titanium is light and strong. Next to that expensive and therefore sold by weight. I do like the rough surface variant.

I indeed needed to screw up over powering in my settings in the high frequencies because of the measured feedback levels. But I think the thresholds are within safety margins. I did extensive overear headphones in the ear Phonak and speakers tests but no .

Edit: my experimental MAV intention was to have an option to totally occlude the receiver in loud noise environments, but it didn’t work.

Hi all, hoping someone can confirm please.

Besides size differences, do all three versions of the new Virto R Infinio- In The Canal (), Half Shell, and Full Shell - have the same features including same battery life? Or is there a trade-off when choosing ITC vs the other two slightly bigger models?

Why is this surprising you. Do you know of any hearing aid that’s produced with different battery sizes. Although I must agree that with the bigger body there would be possibly more space for any ingredient. Similar to the addition of in comparance to their variant, although the weight will increase also.

For myself I would be glad if they would bring back the very handy optional wheel on the new Virto. And please the Sphere chip too.

I may be confusing with aids, but yes it was common for the smaller in the ear aids to have less features and smaller batteries.

Same features could be impacted by whether the fit allows one to best use all features. Do certain ears or benefit from half or full shell or can everyone use just the same? Do they put the same size battery in them all?

What are the pros and cons of these sizes generally and do those apply to this model?

People with profound losses often need more gain than a . I’m not up to doing a pro and con. There’s lots of good info on the forum.

Can confirm, full shell, half shell, and in the canal (not really though) all have the same features. And yes the traditional battery / versions are defeatured.

Some people prefer full shell for dexterity or retention, but otherwise phonak will basically give you the smallest thing they can manage to make given the size of your ear and the necessary gain/power.

Will Phonak circle back if they need more space than provides or just do what they can?

Is the retention on these similar to a canal mold without a wing/canal lock? Or do they stay in better for some reason. One can get a canal/helix lock on these if worthwhile.

Can one get larger venting with half/full shell? While not perfect I’ve settled on hollow molds with the largest vent possible with . I’m interested in trying these Phonak but it may be a foolish endeavor if they are not able to vent enough for my cookie bite. From the order form the default venting is AOV but they also offer 12/20/25/3L/SAV and no vent. (3L might be a typo when they meant 30).

I’m not exactly sure I know what you mean. The is a different device. It’s a very small defeatured device with a traditional battery. There is no virto iR CIC.

There isn’t really an , it’s a small half shell. These devices are smaller than anything I’ve seen in fully featured rechargeable customs on the market, but they are still a half shell. If they cannot make a half shell, they’ll circle back, yes. You can ask your clinician to have phonak model them and send an image prior to purchase.

I don’t know what your cookie bite looks like. If you have normal low frequencies out to 1kHz I wouldn’t recommend trying, but most cookie bites don’t. Yes, more venting is possible with a half shell compared to a CIC. Retention should be okay without a canal lock, because the hearing aid takes up that space where the canal lock usually is. It’s…its own canal lock?

If you find hollow slim tips too occluding–true occlusion that you experience with the hearing aids in and off–then customs won’t work for you.

Also, these hearing aids are new and fancy, but not fancier than the sphere. They’re for custom people.

Phonak lists three versions of Virto R: full shell, half shell, and smaller than half shell. Is the smallest one not a ? I thought was the really tiny aids. Or are you saying that small as possible for these is really a half shell?

It’s a struggle to keep the amplification and not lose too much of my unamplified hearing. I have some loss in 500-1K (worst reading 35 @ 500, 45 @ 1K) but sometimes hear better unaided than aided, possibly due to the aids reducing my own hearing.
